It is with great pleasure that we announce on behalf of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe that PartServe Channel support (Pty) Ltd have been appointed as Playstation?s official repair agent in Southern Africa.PartServe will be handling the exchange program for all Playstation consoles as from the 2nd June 2008. PartServe will be sending a Senior Technician to London on the 2nd June 2008 to be trained on the repairing of Playstation.

PLAYSTATION 2

12 MONTH LIMITED WARRANTY

Warranty Process (First 12 months of purchase)

If the console is faulty within the first 30 days of purchase the console plus accessories, (depending on the PS2 pack supplied), may be exchanged at the retailer at which the PS2 was purchased, on condition that there is proof of purchase, a complete unit (console, power cable, controller, AV cable, packaged in the original box) and the machine has not been mishandled or damaged in any way by the customer.

After the first 30 days and within 12 months of purchase the console can be returned to the nominated service provider, PARTSERVE for an exchange unit. This warranty is void if the unit has been damaged by the customer, for example -
* Water damage
* Illegal chipped unit ? warranty becomes void immediately
* Dropped unit
* Unit that has been tampered with/opened
* Casing broken/chipped
* NOT LIMITED TO THE ABOVE LIST ONLY

No refunds will be given.

Out of Warranty (from month 13 of purchase)

From the start of the 13th month of purchase the nominated service provider,  PARTSERVE will QUOTE the repair work to be carried out.


PS2 Dual Shock Controllers

30 DAY LIMITED WARRANTY

Dual Shock Controllers sold with the PS2 have a 30 day warranty. If the Controller is faulty within the warranty period, the customer is to take the entire package, including console, cables and proof of purchase, to the nominated service provider, PARTSERVE who will exchange the controller.

A PS2 Dual Shock Controller bought separately at the retailer may be exchanged at the retailer at which it was purchased within 30 days of date of purchase, where the controller is faulty, on condition that there is proof of purchase. No refunds will be given.

Retailers may under no circumstances exchange controllers from existing PS2 console stock.


Games

Games will not be credited by Ster-Kinekor Games (SKG) unless the game is still sealed and is loose in its packaging, indicating a fault.  Other than as stated herein, should the retailer take the decision to return a game where it has been opened, it does do so at its own discretion and SKG will not be liable for the return.

Games are NOT to be credited unless the customer returns the game within 10days of purchase.  Games must be thoroughly tested and the disc must be scrutinized for scratches by the Sales Consultants

The nominated service provider does not repair/exchange/refund software under any circumstances.


Peripherals

Original Sony peripherals purchased separately hold a 30 day warranty and may be exchanged at the retailer, if faulty.

N.B.  Peripherals are not repairable.

It is up to the customer or retailer to take any damaged consoles to the nominated service provider for exchange or repairs.

All warranties will be void if the consoles, controllers or peripherals have been modified, damaged, mishandled, or misused.  Other than as set out herein, no warranties whatsoever express or implied are given.

 

 

PLAYSTATION 3

12 MONTH LIMITED WARRANTY

Warranty Process (First 12 months of purchase)

If the Playstation 3 system is faulty within the first 30 days of purchase the console plus accessories, (depending on the Playstation 3 system pack supplied), may be exchanged at the retailer at which the Playstation 3 system was purchased, on condition that there is proof of purchase, a complete unit (Playstation 3 system, Ethernet cable, Sixaxis Controller, Power cable, USB cable, Composite AC cable, Packaged in the original box) and the machine has not been mishandled or damaged in any way by the customer.

After the first 30 days and within 12 months of purchase the Playstation 3 system can be returned to the nominated service provider, PARTSERVE for an exchange unit. This warranty is void if the unit has been damaged by the customer, for example -
? Water damage
? Illegal chipped unit ? warranty becomes void immediately
? Dropped unit
? Unit that has been tampered with/opened

Out of Warranty (from month 13 of purchase)

* Non warranty exchange PS3 60gig: R2,940 (Ex-Vat)
* Non warranty exchange PS3 60gig: R2,400 (Ex-Vat)

Sixaxis Controllers

30 DAY LIMITED WARRANTY

Sixaxis Controller sold with the Playstation 3 system have a 30 day warranty. If the Sixaxis Controller is faulty within the warranty period, the customer is to take the entire package, (Playstation 3 system, Ethernet cable, Sixaxis Controller, Power cable, USB cable, Composite AC cable, Packaged in the original box) and Proof of purchase to the nominated service provider, PARTSERVE who will exchange the Sixaxis Controller.

A Sixaxis Controller bought separately at the retailer may be exchanged at the retailer at which it was purchased within 30 days of date of purchase, where the Sixaxis Controller is faulty, on condition that there is proof of purchase.

No refunds will be given.

Retailers may under no circumstances exchange Sixaxis Controllers from existing Playstation 3 Systems console stock.


Games

Should the Playstation 3 System be faulty within any type of bundled deal, only the Playstation 3 System is to be returned.  The customer will retain the value added parts of the bundle.

Original Sony peripherals purchased separately are covered by a 30 day warranty and may be exchanged at the Retailer, if faulty.

No refunds will be given.

The customer must provide the nominated service provider with:

1. Proof of Purchase
2. Playstation 3 system
3. USB Cable
4. Composite AV Cable
5. Power Cable
6. Ethernet Cable
7. Sixaxis Controller

All warranties will be void if the Playstation 3 system, Sixaxis Controller or peripherals have been modified, damaged, mishandled, or misused.  Other than as set out herein, no warranties whatsoever express or implied are given.

 


PLAYSTATION PORTABLE (PSP)

12 MONTH LIMITED WARRANTY

Warranty Process (First 12 months of purchase)

If the PSP is faulty within the first 30 days of purchase the PSP may be exchanged at the Retailer at which the PSP was purchased, on condition that there is proof of purchase, a complete unit (console, headphones with remote control, MS 32Mb, soft carrying case & strap, AC adaptor and Battery pack, packaged in the original box) and that the machine has not been mishandled or damaged by the customer in any way.

After the first 30 days and within 12 months of purchase the PSP can be returned to the nominated service provider, PARTSERVE for an exchange unit.

Out of warranty (from month 13 of purchase)

From the start of the 13th month of purchase the nominated service provider, PARTSERVE will QUOTE for the repair work to be carried out.

Non Warranty - Non PAL

Non-warranty exchange: R1,755(ex VAT)

This charge is payable IRRELEVANT of the cause of the fault, or the length of time since the unit was purchased.

Consumers may alternatively wish to contact the original point of purchase for after sales support.

Peripherals which are included with the PSP at the time of purchase are covered by the same one year warranty as the PSP itself.  The customer is to take the complete unit (console, headphones with remote control, MS 32MB, soft carrying case & strap, AC adaptor and battery pack packaged in the original box) as well as proof of purchase, to the nominated service provider who will exchange the Peripherals.

Peripherals bought separately at the retailer are covered by a 12 months manufacturer?s warranty.

Retailers may under no circumstances exchange peripherals from existing PSP console stock.

N.B.  Peripherals are not repairable!

It is up to the customer or retailer to take any damaged consoles to the nominated service provider for exchange or repairs.
